Keswick & Coniston to Barrow

As a local charity Croft Care Trust is entering a team into both the 2018 Keswick to Barrow and Coniston to Barrow walks. This years walks take place on 12th May. If anyone is interesting in joining the team to help raise money for the charity, or can simply donate their day to assist with Checkpoint support & support vehicles can they please get in touch with us: with the subject "Walk"

Halloween Party

Croft Care Trust will be hosting a Halloween Party on Friday 28th October 2016 at the Soccer Bar. There will be a DJ playing music for the first half of the evening (with party games for the children) and a live band for the second half of the evening.

25 Years of Excellence

19th August 2016 marked 25 years since one of our Nursing Assistants, Linda Conroy began her work with Croft Care Trust. To mark the occasion Linda was presented with flowers, Cumbria Crystal, a cake and more as a sign of appreciation from residents and staff for all her hard work over the years.

Fighting Fit...ish

Staff at The Croft are taking part in a 90 day weight loss challenge to raise funds for a new stimulation room. The Challenge begins on 5th February 2016 and runs through to May. If you wish to sponsor a staff member, please get in touch.

Christmas Time

Last night was the annual Croft Care Trust Christmas Party. The residents chose to attend the Lisdoonie Hotel for this years party. A great time was had by all. The entertainment provided by F1 disco was top notch.

Yesterday some of our staff and residents took part in a sponsored fancy dress walk around Barrow Park to raise money towards a new stimulation room. Despite the poor weather, everyone managed to finish.

Sponsored Fancy Dress Walk

To help raise funds to create a sensory room Croft Care Trust staff and residents will be doing a sponsored Fancy Dress walk around Barrow Park on Saturday 31st October.

Croft Care Trust are once again supporting the Breast Cancer "Wear it Pink" campaign.

This years "Wear it Pink" day will be October 24th, we'll be selling cakes and refreshments if friends and family would like to join us (as long as you wear pink of course)

It has been a busy few weeks with Christmas and the new year.

We had parties for both events which I really enjoyed. Our morning trips continue, It was my turn to choose today and we have been to canal head in Ulverston to feed the ducks.

We have been enjoying the sunshine on our new patio this week.

We had a BBQ which was was really nice. I enjoyed it. I had a hot dog and two burgers with cheese and onions. It was a good night.

We have had a meeting this week about healthy eating with our Craig.

We have agreed that the menu should offer us a healthy option. Craig told us that all our meals are made to be nutritionally balanced, but we need to be careful about what treats and snacks we have.

The weather has been nice, which has been a change as it has been raining a lot recently.

We used the nice weather to go back up to lakeside and see the boats and the ducks. We did take some photos, but the camera didn't work properly.

We've got our t-shirts, have participated in the official comic relief sweepstake and have now sold out of red noses, luckily everybody got one before we sold out.

We have had outside entertainment in this week.

We have had Elvis Presley come in and perform for us, and also Folksy Theatre have been and put on a musical comedy show called "We'll meet again". Both were very good and I really enjoyed them both.

The daily trips have continued, which have been really enjoyable. A group of us have also had a trip to Everton to see the football. We went to watch Everton play Arsenal on Wednesday night.

This week the weather has been really bad.

The roads in the area have flooded and looked more like rivers than roads. This has not stopped us from going out though. The escort lets us pick where we go on our trips out but I always ask to go to lakeside because I get to see both Boats and Trains.

Despite the Croft Care Trust Mini Bus being out of action this past week the daily trips out have continued with help of Carefree Travel.

We have enjoyed trips to lakeside, the docks and also to the Park. The Park was my favourite trip out as I got to feed the ducks, they ate all my bread fast to stop the swans and geese from getting it.

Lots of people came and we managed to raise more than any previous year for the charity.

This week was really good.

This week was really good. On Monday we had an Olympic Medal Ceremony following the end of the Olympics. Everyones team won at least one gold medal so we were all presented with our own Gold Medals.
